When you don't stand up to evil early...

How might anyone in any way be supportive of the ethnic cleansing hate crime and killing for killing's sake in Kosova or at your local high school? To not confront absolute evil is to absolutely enable ongoing and escalating evil. The apologists' lame excuses are an expression of social irresponsibility of the variety that if left unchecked grows beyond isolated genocide to global suicide. Gandhi discussed the concept of an eye for an eye leaving the whole world blind. Allowing isolated genocide to exist paves the way for the perams of ethnic cleansing or any other hate crime to broaden. Small goofy groups whose self-serving hatred abounds and people get killed in the process is bad enough and should be dealt with accordingly, but when governments sanction discrimination, ethnic cleansing and then commit war crimes to enforce their destructive policies, responsible and compassionate people and their governments must retaliate with all we've got in order to preserve our own humanity, that indeed includes all six plus billion of us, as neighborhoods go, and grow. This is today, not yesterday. We don't know what is going to happen tomorrow, but if today we don't do all we can to stop ethnic cleansing, we can be sure of getting more of the same tomorrow. We should not fear the likes of John Rocker (See: Starrs and Barrs), any more than we fear the re-named White Citizen Council or the Satanic-American Tim McVeigh in his spiritual and ideological battle with ATF and the FBI; one by one as they cross the line if and as they cross the line, we'll catch the ATF, FBI and military traitors too, and prosecute them within the bounds of due process. Even in the context of Waco, Ruby Ridge and Oklahoma City, some say the US, NATO and various individuals who were willing to risk their own lives in ripping the guts out of Serbia's ethnic cleansing machine, should have been discouraged (from the imperative and gruesome task of making powerless OUR sworn enemy; here further defined as anyone who would exterminate someone else because of their ethnicity). No matter the excuse, such glib advisors and obvious supporters of the Serbian leadership, their military and the "good German-types" (who look the other way while ethnic cleansing happened on their watch) appear to be missing a card from the logic and/or Communist deck. IF such behavior is ignored, THEN what goes around..." Furthermore, the perpetuators of "hate crimes" (or those who thrill-kill) must be dealt with accordingly. The KKK, White Citizens Council, Christian Identity-type Skinheads, Republicans on the Judiciary Committee, TV evangelists and radio Talk Show hosts and their followers are full of cute commentary justifying their indignation toward anyone who favors "extermination of the exterminators" while they held a like disdain for anyone who favored the safe return of the Kosovar to their homes. Only yesterday, we're talking about Kosovo. Maybe tomorrow we'll be talking about settlements that tend to displace "ethnic" or "indigenous" groups elsewhere. But only yesterday, we were talking about Kosovo and John Rocker, and once and for all ending ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Serbian leadership, their military and indirectly the Serb civilians who like the "good Germans" of 1933, and the John Rocker followers in their respective states of denial that prevents them from seeing what their leaders and their leader's military are doing to their neighbors. Besides Y2K, we're at an interesting time in history, and a war against ethnic cleansing about a year from 2001 makes it all the more interesting. We obviously didn't get it right the first time, and WWII passed with a "Never again!" and the "Nuremberg Trials" through which we can filter our daily lives and Pol Pot's too, but an attempt was nonetheless made in modern times to obliterate the Kosovar? Maybe we can get it right this time, and this time, say "Never again!" and mean it! And finally, at least until the Tito/Trotsky discussion begins, there are people on both sides of the genocide or not issue that don't have to be drafted into anyone's army, but who will voluntarily fight to the death on putting an end to, or fight for, a continuation of ethnic cleansing-type hate crimes of the kind we watch on CNN every night. John Rocker is typical of the ugly American; giving all white males a bad name while in fact the John Rockers of this world are majority as democracies go. The only difference between Rocker and the average white band is that Rocker said it out loud. It's our struggle; standing against the evil of this world, or as Eldridge Cleaver once said, about being part of the problem or part of the solution. Warn those who attempt to defy physics by taking no position or responsibility, to at least help by not interfering with anyone committed to the peace process. 99 SEP 02 - The killings at Waco, at the hands of ATF, the FBI and military personnel must be avenged in the courts.
